Children due to Start School in September 2006

Next Friday, 18 November, is the closing date for the return of forms for children who are due to start school in September 2006 (that is children born between 1 September 2001 and 31 August 2002).

It appears that there are fewer than usual ‘in-catchment’ children, so that there will be, in all probability, places for out-of-catchment children – if you know of anyone seeking a place for their child, let them know of the possibilities.   In fact, there are spaces in most year groups at present.

Furniture - Surplus to requirements

New furniture is arriving for many of the classrooms which means that the school has old but serviceable classroom chairs and plastic trays  which are being disgarded.   Should anyone like to help themselves they are available, free of charge (though a small donation to the PTA would be appreciated), just ask in the school office.

Children in Need

For next Friday18th November, Children in Need Day, the school is asking children (and no doubt the staff as well!) to ‘be what they want to be’ – on payment of a small donation (say, £1) children can come dressed as ‘what they would like to be’. This shoul get their imaginations working.  These ‘dressing-up’ days are hugely enjoyed by the children and  generally raise a significant sum for the charities involved.
